Production Evaluation
I have now completed my music video and feel content with the overall production. I feel that it has raised awareness of domestic violence and some of the ways people are abused in relationships and may not even know it is going on.
I think that looking back on my research I conducted before filming, I think I successfully used these as inspiration for my own video and justified why these other artists and their videos were used.
Creating a website for my artist alongside the music video helped me in successfully meeting the brief. I linked the warner music website as well as links to videos, tour dates etc. Having an 'ABOUT' link on the website helped me to humanise my artist and bring her to life, prior to filming.
If I was to complete a project like this again, I think that I would take more consideration of the mise en scene and the set of my video, as well as some of the actors costumes. However I think that overall I was well prepared in terms of planning the shots, angles and which lyrics will go with the acting. This meant that when it came to filming day, I was able to set my plan out in front of me and complete a checklist to ensure that everything was completed on the day. I also filmed extra footage as I knew that it would be better to have too much footage, than too little. We set up a contingency day with the actors to ensure that if I needed any more footage we had a day that everyone was available.
Overall I am confident that I fulfilled the brief and raised awareness of domestic violence whilst doing so.
