RESEARCH | A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie | Warner Records
The homepage of his website is dark and has a sophisticated tone. Central of the page is a photograph of him with his chains laid out in front of him, wearing Christian Dior trainers; this has been staged purposely in order to appeal to his target audience. He is sat on the floor with a hoodie on, his name being 'A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie' this is not a coincidence. he 'screwface' expression implies seriousness however also portrays him as a cool artist that young people want to listen to; he is like them. Cursive style writing is used stating his name and placed across the image of him at an angle reinforcing the idea of him being a cool, unique character. His name has incorrect spelling in it 'Wit Da' which further develops this idea and done purposely to reach the correct audience.
Just down from the homepage, you can find all his album covers. When looking at these I noticed that they all use quirky designs and are cartoon based with aspects of real life. Although he does feature in many of his album covers as a cartoon, they are not explicitly images of him as take as part of a photoshoot, instead he uses anime style to market his music. The use of black and white for his homepage emphasises his album covers when you scroll down to them on the website, attention is drawn to them.
A Boogie also has his music videos shown directly on the page. Similar to his album covers, these include elements of SFX and editing to portray the idea of superpowers. I found that in his video for 'Mood Swings' he is given electric blue eyes that almost make him look like s robot. The video then goes onto show him playing a piano but with puppet strings attached to his finger. I found this interesting because I could use a similar idea in my music video based on domestic violence and the idea of control.
